OAU Notice to 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 Graduands

The management of Obafemi Awolowo University wishes to inform all students who completed their degree programmes during the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 sessions are to collect their academic robes, Order of Proceedings, and two Guest Cards from their College / Faculty Secretaries between 8.00 a.m and 4.00 p.m a day preceding the award of degrees in their disciplines on the presentation of receipts showing payment and submission of a photocopy of same as indicated below:

(i)First Degrees and Diplomas

All graduands are required to pay convocation charges of N6,500.00 inclusive of the OAU Alumni Advancement levy of N1,500.00.

(ii)Higher Degrees

All graduands are required to pay convocation charges of N8,500.00 inclusive of the OAU Alumni/Advancement levy of N,1.500.00

(B)Graduands should assemble at the Car Park of the Sports Complex on their graduation day not later than 8.30 a.m. They must be fully robed and seated in the places allocated to them at the convocation venue by 9.15 a.m. NOBODY INCLUDING GRADUANDS AND THEIR PARENTS/GUARDIANS, WILL BE ADMITTED INTO THE HALL, AFTER 9.30 A.M. EACH DAY.

(C)Academic robes must be returned the same day of the Convocation. Failure to return the gowns on the prescribed date and time shall attract a fine of N2,000.00 per day.

(D)Commercial Photographers/Video Operators will be charged N5,000.00 for the period. All those interested in functioning as Photographers/Video Operators are required to make payment to the Cash Office in the Bursary Department of the University between 9.00 a.m and 3.00 p.m from Monday, 1st December, 2014 and the receipts should be presented to the Public Relations Officer who will issue certificate of accreditation to operators.

(E)All Cars, Buses and Motorcycles coming to the campus will pay N500.00 each per day during the period of Convocation.

Graduands are not allowed to leave the Convocation venue before the end of the ceremony each day.

Graduands are strongly advised to comply with these arrangements.

Please note that whenever graduands are collecting their certificates, they will be required to show evidence of payment of the Convocation fees and also payment of a sum of N3,000.00 for OAU memorabilia at the Advancement Office.

KWASU Best Graduating Student (2012/2013) Cash in Cheque of N1.6m

Ameen Mohammed Tukur who was named the best graduating student of Kwara State University for 2012/2013 session has been presented a cheque of N1.65m by the kwara state government.

According to Alhaji Abdukwahab Aliyu Opakunle who presented the cheque on behalf of the state government stated that this is a deliberate effort by the Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed administration to encourage excellent students in the state who distinguish themselves, in their chosen academic career.

In his response, Ameen Mohammed Tukur expressed his appreciation to the Kwara State Government, the management of KWASU and his presents who have contributed in no small measure to the success of his programme.

Ekiti 2012/2013 BURSARY AND SCHOLARSHIP PAID

The Government of Ekiti State led by Dr John Kayode Fayemi has fulfilled the promise reached with the leadership of FESSU that the 2012/2013 bursary and scholarship will be paid before the 21st June 2014 gubernatorial election in the State. 

The students have been receiving bank alerts as the bursary was paid directly into their respective accounts.
Over 7,000 students are beneficiaries of this year's edition and the Ekiti State Student 2013/2014 bursary and scholarship forms will be available for collection in another 8weeks.
 
We commend the students for their patience and understanding all this while.

Convocation Brochure and Academic outfit are to be collected at the various locations earlier mentioned.

OAU 2012/2013 Academic Session Completes, Returning Students to Resume June15th

Following the end of the 2012/2013 Rain Semester examinations, students are hereby informed that the school will go on break from Thursday, May 22, 2014 to Saturday, June 14, 2014.
 
Consequently, all students who are resident in the Hostels on campus should vacate the Halls of Residence immediately and, in any case, not later than 12.00 noon on Friday, May 23, 2014.

Accommodation arrangements shall be made for final year students working on their projects. Such students should, however, collect letters from their Supervisors/Heads of Departments. Postgraduate students should continue with their studies.

Returning undergraduates are expected to return to the campus, at the expiration of the break, on Sunday, June 15, 2014, which is the commencement of the 2013/2014 academic session.
