28 First Class Degrees in TASUED as 10,899 Graduates

28 out of 10,899 students graduated with First Class Degrees at the 3rd, 4th and 5th combined convocation ceremonies of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) which took place on Monday, 17th to Friday, 28th November, 2014.

A further breakdown shows that 10,770 graduated with first degree while 85 students were awarded Master’s Degree and 44 students were awarded the Postgraduate Diploma.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluyemisi Obilade, urged the graduands to serve the state and the country at large.

TASUED Information to 2010/2011 & 2011/2012 Graduands

INFORMATION TO ALL GRADUANDS ON COLLECTION OF ACADEMIC GOWN

All graduands are required to pay the sum of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) on-line following these steps:

i.Graduands are to visit the University website: www.tasued.edu.ng and login to the Graduands Portal – http://portal.tasued.edu.ng/graduands

ii.Use MasterCard or Visa Card to make online payment of N5,000 only

iii.Print receipt

Printed receipts are to be authenticated at the University Bursary for the collection of academic gowns and invitation cards between Monday, 17th and Wednesday, 26th November, 2014 at their respective Colleges/Postgraduate School. Academic gowns and invitation cards can not be collected by proxy.

RETURN OF ACADEMIC GOWN

All hired academic gowns should be returned on Monday, 1st December, 2014 to the respective College Officers/Secretary Post Graduate School and certificate of clearance obtained for same. Late return attracts a penalty of five hundred naira (N500) only for each day of default.

TASUED School Fees Payment

New TASUED Students, who have obtained the O’Level verification code from Admissions Office, can now make school fees payment via the portal.

On successful payment, the respective Matric Number will be generated accordingly based on the programme offered and will reflect on the School Fees Receipt. School Fees for NEW Students (indigene and non-indigene) is N75,000 only.

TASUED 2014/2015 ADMISSION INTO PART-TIME DEGREE PROGRAMMES

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for admission into 4½- year (9 Semesters) and 6- year (12 Semesters) Part-Time and Sandwich Degree Programmes.
 
GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The admission requirements for Bachelor’s Degree Programmes are as follows:

(A) FOUR AND A HALF–YEAR (9 SEMESTERS) PROGRAMME (SANDWICH PROGRAMME) (VACATION)
Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with at least Merit in two core/Teaching subjects, GCE ‘A’ Level, OND/HND in relevant areas with at least Lower Credit or Academic Diploma from recognized Universities are required in addition to (B) below. Advanced National Technical/Business Certificate (ANTC, ANBC is acceptable for Vocational Courses only).

(B) SIX -YEAR (PART-TIME) PROGRAMME (12 SEMESTERS) (WEEKEND)
WAEC/NECO Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC), General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE 0’Level), National Technical Certificate/National Business Certificate (NTC/NBC is acceptable for Vocational Courses only) with Credits in five (5) subjects obtained at not more than two sittings.
A credit in 0’level English Language is required for all courses.

SPECIAL COURSES REQUIREMENTS
1. A credit in 0’level Mathematics is required for science, social and management sciences, vocational and technical education based courses except where otherwise stated.
2. Credit in Literature in English is required for English Language.
3. A Credit in at least one Science subject is required for Mathematics.
4. Candidates wishing to study Educational Management should have obtained Credit in Mathematics
and Economics at the Ordinary Level.
5. Credits in any two (2) of Geography, Economics, Government, Islamic Religious Knowledge,
Commerce, Christian Religious Knowledge, History and Yoruba are acceptable for the study of
Social Studies.
6. Candidates wishing to study Counselling Psychology with teaching subject options in science and
Social Sciences must have credit in Biology and Mathematics.

Admission forms are available at a cost of Ten thousand Naira (N10,000) only.

METHOD OF APPLICATION (LOG IN PROCEDURE)
Part-Time and Sandwich forms with brochure can be obtained on-line through the following step by step procedure:
(i) Visit the TASUED website by typing www.tasued.edu.ng on the web page.
NB: Only the www.tasued.edu.ng. has the legitimate and authentic platform for the Part-Time and Sandwich application form. (ii) Click Part-Time and Sandwich application form.
Candidates are strongly advised to click the Part-Time and Sandwich Degree Brochure and carefully study the O’ Level requirements for the courses applied for before applying on the TASUED website,
www.tasued.edu.ng (iii) Complete the Part-Time and Sandwich application form by providing the required information; (iv) Submit your form by clicking submit button. (v) Print out an identification slip containing your colour passport photograph. The printed slip will serve as candidate’s identification/admission card for the screening test.
Note that false information provided by any candidate sha ll be detected by the special TASUED software application and such candidates shall be disqualified.

SCREENING DATES
Screening shall be conducted on Friday, 12TH December, 2014 for all 100 level applicants at ICT Ososa Campus of the University by 9.00 a.m. The screening date for Direct Entry (200 level) applicants shall be Friday, 19th December, 2014 at ICT Ososa Campus of the University by 9.00 a.m.
Candidates’ participation in the screening exercise is a mandatory requirement for entry into the University.
The results of the screening exercise should be checked on the University Website a week after the screening.

TASUED 2014/2015 POSTGRADUATE SUBMISSION OF FORMS AND OTHERS DOCUMENTS

I write to inform you that the following information should be forwarded to the internet for the consumption of the 2014/2015 POSTGRADUATE Applicants please.
 
The school of postgraduate studies is informing those who purchased the TASUED postgraduate application forms for the 2014/2015 academic session of the need to urgently submit hard copies of their forms with the following documents as earlier advertised.

These Documents are;
1. Academic transcripts
2. Referees forms
3. WAEC/GCE O level Certificate
4. Bachelor’s degree/HND Certificate and other certificates
5. NYSC Discharge/Exemption certificate (for Nigerian candidates)

Exam Malpractice: TASUED Rusticates 20, Expels 6

The Senate at its 74th statutory meeting held on Wednesday 24th September, 2014 approved the punishment for the following students for various misconduct as recommended by the Examination Malpractice Committee.

The affected students are therefore advised in their own interest to please stay off the campus in order to prevent being embarrassed by the University Security Personnel.

Job Title: Bursar

Job Description
The Bursar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University. He/She should possess the ability to provide the University with appropriate advice and support for all of the Institutions financial transactions including investment.

Academic / Professional Qualifications
i.) A good Honours Degree in Accounting from a recognized University
ii.) He/She must be a member of at least one of the underlisted professional bodies or their equivalents:
-Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)
-Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)
iii.) He/She must be computer literate and also possess a demonstrable ability in the use of computer and access to the internet.

Experience:
The applicant must have been a Deputy Bursar or equivalent and must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience seven (7) years of which must have been spent in a University.

Remuneration
CONTISS 15

Conditions of Service
The successful candidate shall hold office for five(5) years in the first instance and may be renewed for a second term of five (5) years based on satisfactory performance.
