The legislative approval was done after the state legislature passed a bill that provided for the amendment of the state owned university's establishment law in order to effect the change of it's name as an honour to the late Biafran war lord Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (Ikemba Nnewi).

Anambra State University Transferred Students of Unaccredited Department Receive school fees Waiver for a Session

The students of the yet to be accredited department of Technology Education of the Anambra State University (ANSU) who were asked to transfer to other departments have received school fees waiver for a session.

This was coming after the VC has exempted the students from paying the usual N15,000 being the official charge for change of degree programme.

All Deans and departmental heads have been asked to regularize the students’ transfer. However, their levels in their new departments will depend on their Cumulative Grade Point Average from the Technology Education Department.

The acting registrar of the institution, Mr O.R.A. Okechukwu, said that the university is working to meet the requirements by the NUC to gain recognition for the programme.

The affected students,on their own part are lamenting over the fact that they are going to spend two additional sessions in the institution when their contemporaries must have graduated.
