2015/2016 Nigeria Defence Academy Entrance Examination Dates

Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Entrance Examination Date for 2015/2016 Admission (Similar to Post-UTME) has been announced. This came along with the commencement of application for the 2015/16 application. The NDA application portal has opened. Details of the 2015/2016 NDA Entrance Exam (Post-UTME Screening)

The following are the outline of information you need regarding the 2015/16 examination dates, schedules, requirements; examination conditions and training at the Nigerian Defence Academy.

Examination Date and Requirements

The following is the schedule of the test/screening and things to take along:

• The NDA examination will be conducted as an entrance examination (similar to Post UTME examination in conventional universities), and is scheduled to hold on Saturday 25 April 2015. Therefore, all eligible candidates are to bring along their Acknowledgement form, JAMB result slip two (2) postcard sized (3.5 x 5 inches) photograph to the examination centre on the examination date.
• The photographs should show only from the chest upwards and should contain the candidate’s Name, State, Centre and Signature at the back.
• Only successful candidates at the 2015/2016 NDA Entrance Examination (Post-UTME) will subsequently be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board following which the list of admitted candidates will be published.

NDA Entrance Examination Conditions

• Only candidates who meet the JAMB national cut-off mark will be eligible to sit for the NDA Entrance Examination at their Examination Centre of choice.

Nature and Duration of Training

• Admitted candidates into NDA for the Regular Course will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years. On successful completion of training, graduands will earn a combined honours degree in Military Science and a core discipline (B.Sc, BEng, BA).
• They will equally earn a commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Administration

• Regular Course cadets will train in NDA.
• All aspects of the cadets administration and logistics will be borne by the Federal Government.

Reference Materials

• In response to requests from candidates for reference materials, the Academy has offered a Compendium of Past Questions & Answers at a token fee to interested candidates. This can be purchased from the Registry Department, NDA or from designated Examination Centres across the country.

Application into Nigerian Defence Academy 2015/2016 Admission Form Announced - Read Requirements and Guidelines

Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) admission form for application into 2015/2016 Regular Course for the Academic Session has commenced on www.ndaappIications.net. Members of the public who are qualified and interested can start applying for the NDA 2015 regular course.

 

The Nigerian Defence Academy is informing the public that online application for admission into the 67th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna will be available from 1st November 2014 to 28th February 2015. Admission into NDA is open to both Male and Female Nigerians and the application is free.

NDA Admission Requirements 2015/16 (67th Regular Course)

• The requirements for various undergraduate degree programmes are as detailed in the NDA website/applications portal, as well as in the JAMB Brochure and website.
• All other information concerning degree courses, eligibility and examination centres are as contained in the NDA website/applications portal.

How to apply for the 2015/2016 NDA admission

• Interested candidates who wish to apply for the 2015/16 admission of the Nigerian Defence Academy are advised to go online and complete the application form on the websites indicated above.
• Please download and read carefully, the Instructions provided on the website.
• Applicants applying for admission Into NDA must also apply to the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), carefully select Nigerian Defence Academy as their choice. of university. Such applicants are expected to sit for the JAMB Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME)

Submission of Nigerian Defence Academy forms for Application

• All applications for the NDA 2015/2016 admission should be submitted online.
• On completion of the online application, candidates are to download an Acknowledgement Form.
• Upon release of the JAMB results, candidates should return to the applications portal and download their Examination Admission Card.
• Only candidates who make the JAMB national cut-off mark will have access to print out the Examination Admission Card.

Apply For WHRI-Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships for International Researchers, 2014

WHRI-ACADEMY offers up to 175 new postdoctoral fellowships spread between three different schemes (incoming, outgoing and reintegration). WHRI-ACADEMY fellowships have a minimum duration of 12 months and a maximum of 36 months. Researchers from any nationality can apply for incoming scheme, researchers from EU Member State or Associated Country to a Third Country are eligible for outgoing scheme and Only 

EU Member State or Associated Country nationals that have carried out research in a Third Country for at least 3 years can apply for reintegration scheme. In all cases, candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the host institution country for more than 12 months in the years 3 years prior to deadline for the submission of proposals.

Eligibility:
1. To comply with the EU FP7 definition of “transnational mobility”
Incoming:
- For non-residents of the host country.
- Researchers from any nationality can apply to.
-Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the Host Organization country for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the application deadline.
Outgoing:
- For residents of Members States or Associated Countries.
- Researchers from any nationality can apply.
- Mobility is from a EU Member State or Associated Country to a Third Country (with a preferably return phase to either a EU Member State or Associated Country)
-Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the Host Organization country for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the application deadline.
Reintegration: from a Third Country to a EU Member State or Associated Country.
- Only EU Member State or Associated Country nationals that have carried out research in a Third Country for at least 3 years can apply.
Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the Host Organization country for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the application deadline.
2. To comply with the EU FP7 definition of “experienced researcher”, the candidate must, at the time of the recruitment by the Host Organization, either:
a) be in possession of a doctoral degree; or
b) have at least four years of research experience (full-time equivalent) since gaining a university diploma giving him/her access to doctoral studies either in the country in which the degree/diploma was obtained or in the country in which the research training is provided.
-Candidates who are about to receive their doctoral degree are eligible to apply but they need to have their PhD degree by the day they receive the offer (indicatively 3 months after the application deadline).

Scholarship Description: 
The William Harvey International Translational Research Academy (WHRI-ACADEMY) is a new mobility fellowship programme which aims to provide multidisciplinary projects to transnational researchers to help to maximise their career development opportunities in healthcare and life sciences.

Number of award(s): 
WHRI-ACADEMY offers 175 new postdoctoral fellowships spread between three different schemes (incoming, outgoing and reintegration) and a training programme, including workshops, dedicated training in complementary skills and industrial placement.

Duration of award(s): 
WHRI-ACADEMY fellowships have a minimum duration of 12 months and a maximum of 36 months.

Area Cover:
The Living allowance will depend on the experience of the selected fellow. The Host Organizations are allowed to use their own salary scales to support the costs for the fellows’ salary costs. Within WHRI-ACADEMY, the fellows must benefit of 1 500 EUR/year as mobility/travel allowance. This allowance refers to relocation and mobility costs of the fellows. It does not take into consideration family status of the applicant. Furthermore, the fellows must benefit of 15 000 EUR/year as contribution to the research costs. This allowance refers to those eligible direct costs related to the research project such as consumables, travel and subsistence for attendance to scientific events, publications, material for the dissemination of the research project, salaries of a person (i.e.: PhD student) for assisting the fellow, etc.). Please note that the EU contribution per fellow-year is 29,800 EUR and it shall correspond to up to 40% of the annual fellowship cost.

Selection Criteria:  
The Evaluation panel experts will assess and score the application on the basis of the Relevance, Research & Innovation quality and Feasibility and Exploitability. The criteria to be assessed are detailed here. Weighting is equal among criteria and you need to reach a minimum score of 3 for each criterion.
- Criteria 1: Quality of the Proposal
- Criteria 2: Quality of the host organization
- Criteria 3: Supervision and Career development
- Criteria 4: Transfer knowledge
 
Evaluation scores will be given for each of the four criteria. Each criterion will be scored out of 5. Scores will be given with a resolution of one decimal place. A score 0 means that the proposal fails to address the criterion under examination or cannot be judged due to missing or incomplete information. A score 1 means poor and, therefore, that the criterion is addressed in an inadequate manner, or there are serious inherent weaknesses. A score 2 means fair and, therefore, that while the proposal broadly addresses the criterion, there are significant weaknesses. A score 3 means good and, therefore, that the proposal addresses the criterion well, although improvements would be necessary. A score 4 means very good and, therefore, the proposal addresses the criterion very well, although certain improvements are still possible. A score 5 means excellent and, therefore, that the proposal successfully addresses all relevant aspects of the criterion in question. Only proposals scoring a minimum of 12 points will be considered for funding.

 The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Shortlisted candidates for 2014/2015 AFSB (66th Regular Course) has been released.

   Certification obtained from a military officer from the candidateW”state of origin, who must be of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and above or equivalent in the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force, may be used in place of Local Government Indigeneship Certificate. In this case, the officer must indicate his formation/unit, appointment, contact address, phone numbers and e-mail address. The officer must also affix formation/unit stamp and sign.
6. Letter of Consent from parent/guardian.

All the Candidates are to download both the Attestation and Consent Forms from the NDA applications portal and complete it as well.

Nigeria Police Academy, 2014 Entrance Examination Date Postponed

The entrance examination into the Nigeria Police Academy has been postponed. The exam originally scheduled for Saturday, May 31st will now hold Saturday, June 7th.

The Oyo state Police PRO said the reason is to allow candidates who would be sitting for JAMB Computer-Based Test CBT and who also applied for admission into the Nigerian Police Academy to write their examination.

Candidates are advised to take note of the change in the examination centres which had been reduced from 18 to 10 due to logistics, though the Police Training School, Ibadan centre remained unchanged.

The NPA says that candidates who scored 170 and above in the UTME would be allowed to sit for the entrance examination

Candidates were expected to come with their original JAMB result slips and photocopies, alongside other requirements and materials.

Special Announcement For Student Who Choose Nigerian Defence Academy in Jamb And Examination Details

CLARIFICATION ON CONFLICT OF DATE FOR CANDIDATES WRITING NIGERIAN DEFENCE ACADEMY ENTRANCE EXAMINATION AND JOINT ADMISSIONS AND MATRICULATION BOARD UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATIONS COMPUTER BASED TEST

1. The Nigerian Defence Academy Entrance Examination (NDAEE) is scheduled to take place on Saturday 17 May 2014 in 23 centres across the country. Only candidates who make the national minimum cut-off mark in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) are to be eligible to write the NDAEE on the said date. However, the attention of the Academy has been drawn to the case of some candidates who chose the JAMB Computer Based Test (CBT) option, which commences on 17 May 2014, for the JAMB examinations. Performance in JAMB was to be a pre-condition for eligibility to take the NDAEE.

2. In view of the above, it has become necessary for NDA to make the following clarifications. All candidates, especially those who applied for the JAMB CBT option, and the general public are hereby informed that the date of the NDAEE remains unchanged as Saturday 17 May 2014. However, in a bid not to exclude any candidate from the examination, all CBT candidates will be allowed to sit for the NDAEE on the said date. Only those who meet the national minimum cut-off mark after the CBT examination will be considered for shortlistment to the Armed Forces Selection Board. The results of those who score less than the national minimum cut-off mark of 180 will be discountenanced. Those candidates who have already taken the Paper and Pencil Test (PPT) or the Dual Based Test (DBT) and have scored less than the national minimum cut-off mark need not bother to attend the NDAEE as it would be a wasted effort, considering that they are not eligible.

3. Consequently, all CBT candidates and those who have met the minimum cut-off marks from JAMB PPT and DBT examinations should access the NDA Applications Portal and print out their Examination Admission Cards. Candidates are once again reminded to bring along the following items to the Examination Centre:

• a. Acknowledgement Form (downloaded from the Internet).
• b. JAMB result slip (for PPT and DBT candidates only).
• c. Examination Admission Card.
• d. Two postcard sized (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs with Candidate’s Name, State of Origin, Course Chosen and Name of Exam Centre written at the back of the photographs.
• e. Writing materials, including HB pencil and eraser.

FUOYE GETS CISCO CERTIFICATION FOR A NETWORK ACADEMY

Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, in line with its overall goal of emerging and     staying first among its contemporaries in student-centred information and computer technology education, has established an lCT -based Cisco Academy to serve the information technology needs of its students.

Speaking to the Information and Protocol officials of the University at the Ikechukwu Iheanacho ICT Centre (IIIC) where he certified the establishment of the Academy, the Cisco Coordinator, South West Resource Centre, Mr. Isaac Olatunji Akoni, pointed out that FUOYE had met the requirements for being a Cisco Network Academy. According to him, FUOYE had a wonderful facility on ground and was therefore “more than qualified” for the Academy. He noted that the last place he saw such IT facility as he found in FUOYE was at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He therefore marveled that FUQYE, at just two years of existence, already has such advanced IT facility in place, beating all its contemporaries and older universities in the country. Such leap, he said, “must have come from a very visionary leader who understands that the world is now completely ICT dependent”. Cisco, an international corporation based in USA, specializes in producing computer equipment as well as software; providing also ancillary training services in the use of their products.

   Fuoye is More Than  Ready

With the mission of filling the global demand for networking professionals, Cisco has ten thousand academies in 165 countries. Through the Cisco Network Academies, of which FUOYE is now one, the company seeks to partner with universities and colleges in training students, not just in software operations, but also in hardware coupling and maintenance, with expertise to monitor and trouble-shoot enterprise- sized networks and manage wireless security.

The Cisco Coordinator stated that a would-be instructor in the Academy must of necessity, be a person with a background in information technology, who has a mastery of the English Language and possesses a good presentation capability. The persons must undergo Cisco training for instructors where they would be prepared for effective and efficient delivery.

He revealed that a Safari would be held at Abeokuta, Ogun State where Cisco Academy instructors would be taught how to handle new and upgraded lOT programmes especially as produced by laboratories of Cisco corporation.
