Introduction
Basic Midwifery Training program is an aspect of Nursing and midwifery education that prepares students to become professional registered midwives. The qualifications are accredited and graded by the Nursing and Midwifery council of Nigeria.
Entry Requirements
WASSCE or its equivalent with credit in five(5) Subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry in not more than two(2) sittings
AGE LIMIT: 17 -23 Years
PERIOD OF YEAR TO STUDY: 3 Years
Method of Application
The Lagos State School of Midwifery Application forms are obtainable at lagos state school of Nursing complex, LASU-isheri road, igando (inside alimosho general hospital), upon payment of five thousand naira (N5,000.00) into skye bank account of lagos state.

Completed application forms, photocopies of relevant documents (birth certificate and WASSCE results or its equivalent) and a handwritten essay on “WHY I WANT TO BE A MIDWIFE” in not more than 100 words are to be submitted to lagos state school of Nursing complex, igando on or before 31st of January 2014.
Application Deadline
The Submission of application forms closes on friday 31st January, 2014 at 2.00 pm prompt.
Examination
Examination comes up on Wednesday 5th of February, 2014 at the lagos state school of Nursing complex, igando by 10.00 am
Examination questions will cover english language, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, general knowledge, current affairs and introduction to midwifery
NOTE: Please take note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and a first year fee of N230,000 (Two hundred and thirty thousand naira only) which includes accommodation is to be paid on resumption.
