Federal Polytechnic, Oko, 2013/2014 Admission into ND & HND Part-Time

The Institution which is today known as Federal Polytechnic, Oko, was approved by the Anambra State Government in 1979 as a College of Arts and Science. In June, 1980, the Institution was upgraded to a College of Arts, Science and Technology. And in 1985, an Edict of the Anambra State Government formalized the status of the College as a Polytechnic and named it Anambra State Polytechnic, Oko.


2013/2014 Admission to Part-Time (Weekend Programme) National Diploma (ND) And Higher National Diploma (HND) Programmes

Applications are invited from eligible candidates into the under-listed part-time National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes (three years duration each) of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, for the 2013/2014 Academic Session:

Entry Requirements
Applicants to the ND programmes must possess at least five (5) credits in the O Level WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings except in Urban & Regional Planning where, at least, a pass in English Language is required.
In addition to the above, applicants to the HND Programmes must possess a National Diploma with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant programmes obtained from Federal Polytechnic, Oko or an equivalent institution accredited by the National Board for Technical Education.
Evidence of a minimum of one (1) year post-ND cognate work experience. In exceptional cases, ND diplomats with a pass (CGPA of 2.00— 2.49) and Industrial Experience of not less than two (2) years in the specific field may be considered for admission into the HND programme.

Method Of Application
Applicants are required to purchase an e-tranzact application pin from any branch of the under-listed banks nationwide for six thousand, five hundred Naira only:

Applicants are required to log on to the school portal at www.federalpolyoko.edu.ng to fill and submit their applications online. The online acknowledgement slip together with three (3) recent passport photographs, two self-addressed and stamped envelopes, as well as photocopies of credentials must be returned in a large envelope to reach the Registrar (Evening Programme). Applicants who are not ND graduates of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, are to apply to their institutions for forwarding of their Academic Transcripts to the Registrar - (Evening Programme), quoting the Department the candidate is applying for applications from such applicants will not be processed until the transcripts are received.

General Entry Requirments

  • To be eligible for admission into the four-year disciplines and five or six-year professional programmes, candidates must possess a minimum of five credits at the GCE/WAEC, SSCE/NECO, or SSCE/NABTEB certificate examinations, which must include English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.
    In addition, candidates seeking admission into Law must possess at least a credit pass in Literature in English. Candidates awaiting GCE/NECO SSCE/WAEC SSCE/NABTEB results are also encouraged to apply provided the results would be available by September 2013 when the new session commences.
  • Candidtate may also seek admission into the 200 level of the degree programmes with the following qualifications:
  1. Passes in at least two subjects at the Advanced level and an additional subject at the subsidiary level in the General Certificate of Education Examination. The subjects must constitute a suitable preliminary to the intended courses.
  2. Diploma/NCE at credit level pass and above in the appropriate subjects from a recognized institution.
  3. IJMB in the appropriate subjects.
  4. First Degree in relevant discipline.
  5. In all these cases, candidates must also satisfy the requirements for matriculation viz: five credit passes at the GCE/WAEC SSCE/NECO SSCE/NABTEB Certificate examinations.

UTME Requirement

Candidates applying for admission are required to sit for the 2013/2014 UTME and obtain the prescribed cut-off marks. This is a statutory requirement for entry into Nigerian universities

Age

Candidates who are above 22 years of age will not be deemed eligible for admission. Older candidates may be admitted under exceptional circumstances.

How to Apply Online

vc Candidates who choose to apply online should go to Igbinedion University’s website, www.iuokada.edu.ng click on the Online Application tab, complete and submit the online form, and make a printout of the successfully completed application confirmation page. The confirmation page which MUST carry a Registration Number (Application ID) should be enclosed in an envelope along with a certified bank draft of N6,500 (Naira) drawn on any reputable bank made payable to Igbinedion University Okada for handling fees and other charges, and forwarded in person or by courier to:
